Hire Vehicle Licencing
Under the Private Hire Vehicles (London) Act 1998 all driver-guides operating from London require three special Private Hire Vehicles (PHV) licences. The licencing authority is called London Taxi and Private Hire (LTPH).
PHV Operator's Licence
All driver-guide bookings must be processed by a licenced operator.
I operate under a centre licenced in the name of the Driver-Guides Association and numbered 2114. The current licence expires on 6 March 2018.

PHV Driving Licence
In addition to having a full driving licence, all driver-guides must be in possession of a PHV driving licence, the process for which includes a medical examination and a police record check.

PHV Vehicle Licence
Vehicles are thoroughly inspected annually plus a Ministry of Transport (MOT) test is required every 6 months.
